Abstract:
Many basins related to active margins locate on Circum-Pacific areas. Forearc basins and retroarc foreland basins locate on the Andean-style margins; forearc basins, shelf basins and backarc basins locate on the Japan Sea-style margins, and pull-apart basins locate on strike-slip margins. This paper analyses the forming models, tectonic evolving and sedimentary characteristics of these basins, and the reservoir forming condition. Some conclusions were as follows:reservoir forming condition is good in pull-apart basins, shelf basins and back-arc basins, but it is poor in forearc basins.
