Abstract: In the paper, the general history about geohysical suryey, oil/gas exploration and,study in the East China Sea Shelf Basin is presented. The history shows that the noticeable results of the oil/gas exploration and study are indeed obtained in the East China Sea Shelf. Baisn through scientific administration and in a common effort of many geological workers. Therefore, the basis for the further exploration is established. The purpose of the poper provid a guide to further studies.
