Abstract:
To address the issue of regulating valve throttling ice blockage caused by high pressure drop and high liquid-phase content in the fuel gas process on an offshore platform which leads to fluctuations in fuel gas pressure, an inability to continuously and stably supply gas to fuel gas users, and production shutdowns that severely impact platform production time efficiency, this paper introduces a new gas extraction process, which achieves two-stage pressure reduction in the fuel gas system, separates more liquid-phase components, and reduces the pressure differential across the regulating valve, thereby completely resolving the pressure fluctuation problem caused by throttling ice blockage. The newly added gas extraction process fixes the inherent design flaws of the original fuel gas supply process, enhances the stability of the fuel gas system during typhoon remote-controlled production, provides natural gas for purging and pressurization in the subsequent commissioning of the low-pressure system, and adjusts gas volume to ensure the stable operation of the compressor. The modification of adding a new gas extraction process thoroughly solves the original design problem that caused the fuel gas pressure fluctuations, which not only improves process stability and platform production uptime, but also serves as a valuable reference for the initial design and later modification of fuel gas processes.
