Abstract:
Element wireline logging and mud logging techniques play an increasingly important role in solving the lithology identification, interface determination and reservoir evaluation. The outcomes measured by two methods had differences in various degree. This brought problems to interpretation work. According to the comparison of different lithological elements, the data showed that the main elements Si, K, Fe and Ca had low measurement error. The curve change trend had a high agreement degree, which can better reflected the real change trend of the formation. While Al, Mg, Ti, S and other elements were different in varying degrees. The reasons for the measurement differences are mainly caused by measurement principle, instrument resolution and influencing factors in the process of quantitative analysis. Fully understanding the differences between the two technologies and choosing proper method according to different measure requests can be benefits for the well-site construction plan and the follow-up data mining.
