Abstract:
Rate transient analysis (RTA) could overcome two main disadvantages of well testing which are high price and time limitation. It is based on the theory of fluid flow, which is relying on the production dynamic data. It is a method to obtain formation parameters through typical curve plate fitting. In the application of the East China Sea gas field, this method can accurately reflect the characteristics of the medium porosity and permeability gas reservoirs. For low porosity and permeability reservoir, it needs to be comprehensively evaluated in combination with unstable well testing. Rate transient analysis method has strong applicability and does not require shut-in testing. Consequently, the cost of production management can be reduced.
