Abstract: Due to the limitations of the offshore operating environment, usually geological objectives can be achieved only through directional wells with large inclination or displacement. However, the offshore operation fee is expensive, and safe fast drilling technology becomes one of the core technologies to reduce the costs of exploration operations. This paper analyzes the drilling construction difficulties in the Weixi block of the Beibu Gulf, and proposes a targeted safe fast drilling technology plan from the aspects of well profile, bit type selection, drilling fluid and so on. Field application proves that this safe fast drilling technology can effectively save the time of drilling period and improve mechanical drilling speed and borehole quality.
