Abstract: In this article, we analyze the basic geologic conditions for hydrocarbon accumulation in volcanic reservoirs, the oil and gas reservoir characteristics, and the main controlling factors on hydrocarbon accumulation in Yixian formation of Zhangwu fault depression. It is believed that the hydrocarbon accumulation in Zhangwu faulted volcanic reservoirs is mainly affected by the four factors, including the richness of oil sources, the development of communication faults, the tectonic setting, and the volcanic reservoir properties.
