Abstract:
To optimize the favorable exploration targets and deepen understanding about the oil and gas resources conditions of America, comprehensive analysis of the geological conditions, oil and gas resource evaluation and particularity in oil and gas geo-logical conditions have been conducted on the basis of the domestic and international data. In addition, combined with the degree of exploration, sedimentary facies and evolution feature, the evaluation parameters have been taken on the eight basins of the United States, and the weighing factors have been assigned according to the proportion of multi-factor. Finally, the exploration targets are optimized and ranked, and semi-quantitative and quantitative evaluation have been finished on the study areas. Through assessment on the potential of HC resources, it is concluded preliminarily that the Rocky Mountain and Alaska are type Ⅰ areas in oil and gas resources; Gulf Coast area, West Texas and southeastern part of New Mexico State basin, the Mid-Continent basin, Appalachian ba-sin region, the East basin are type Ⅱ areas in oil and gas resources, and California basin and the Atlantic coast are type Ⅲ areas in oil and gas resources.
