Abstract:
The principle of BOP control system in semi-submersible drilling platform has been explained in this paper. The reasons are analyzed for the troubles on the BOP control system of KANTAN 3 semi-submersible drilling platform occurred during operations in Sakhalin sea, Russia. In addition, the related handling and solving measures are introduced. It might be helpful for the BOP control system of semi-submersible drilling platform in trouble-shooting and processing, especially in hard cold sea environment.
