Abstract: In this article, a new kind of offshore platform-wellhead support has been introduced. With the wellhead support used in Weizhou 6-8 Oil Field in Bohai Bay in the South China Sea as an example, the structural form of wellhead support, offshore installation methods have been discussed, and the advantages comparing with the conventional jacket are studied. In addition, the signifi-cance of popularization wellhead support in marginal oil field development has been discussed.
