Abstract: The Halahatang region of western Tarim basin is the key areas of Donghe sandstone oil and gas exploration, there is an abundant oil and gas reserve and has a good exploration prospects, and two oil and gas reservoirs (the east Hetang and Hade 4) has been found here.Sedimentary diachroneity of Donghe sandstone and breccia is very obvious.Based on sequence stratigraphy, stratification and comparison was remade in Donghe sandstone and breccia, a sedimentary mode research on the basis of the construction of stratigraphic framework was made too, and finally the distribution and evolution rules of the strata, sandstone distribution rules as well as reservoir distribution rules was recognized, which was of important significance for the oil and gas exploration of this area.
