Appraising the adaptability of cross-linking polymer used in shallow layers of Jidong Oilfield

  • The shallow layers of Jidong Oilfield are characterized by loosely-binding rock and active edge-water and bottom-water, With increasing recovery ratio, edge-water rushed into these reservoirs along high-permeability region and led to high water-cut in wells. The complexities of the reservoirs bring some difficulties for the use of EOR techniques. Aimed at the geology and development of Jidong Oilfield and by means of analyses and studies as well as based on a large number of interior physical modeling experiments, a new cross-linking polymer system was selected which was suitable for the use of EOR in the shallow layers of Jidong Oilfield. So far, the production has increased by more than 4.4×104 tons and effectively controlled the edge-water rush rates in the block of G104-5, thus the development effectivty of the block was improved. The study provides a new measure for increasing oil recovery of Jidong Oilfield and it provides references for the shallow layers of the other blocks.
