Research and application of new process of installing deck plate of topsides

  • To address issues such as low equipment utilization rates, insufficient operational space, and difficulties in precision control arising from discrepancies between design and schedule during the fabrication of offshore platform topsides, this paper establishes a deck plates construction process based on self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT) technology. It analyzes the stress characteristics of deck plates during the construction process through engineering practice. The results indicate the maximum structural stress ratio is 0.907, and the maximum plate deformation value is 13.411 cm, and the deck plates ultimately achieve precise positioning. Conclusions demonstrate that SPMT technology effectively overcomes construction challenges in post-installation deck plates operations and holds significant application value for offshore platform construction.
