Echo amplitude eccentricity correction method for ultrasonic imaging logging

  • Due to the eccentricity of the instrument during the ultrasonic imaging logging process, the image data is not conducive to later interpretation and processing, it is necessary to perform amplitude eccentricity correction on acoustic imaging data. However, there is currently no good method for amplitude eccentricity correction. To solve this problem, it is necessary to study the eccentricity correction method for amplitude images. This article proposes an amplitude eccentricity correction method based on theoretical amplitude curve calculation. Firstly, theoretical amplitude curves with different eccentricities are calculated, and specific calculation examples are carefully designed. Eccentricity correction tests are carried out on acoustic samples processed in the laboratory, and the results show a high degree of agreement between the theoretical amplitude curve calculation results and the actual observation data, proving the reliability of this correction method. Finally, real well data processing is completed, and good results are achieved. This provides more realistic data for further quantitative analysis of wellbore amplitude images, and provides strong support for the optimization of instrument eccentricity correction technology and formation feature analysis in the future, improving the accuracy of data processing results and enriching reservoir effectiveness evaluation methods.
