Dynamic Response Analysis of TEG Dehydration Module Structure Explosion in Floating Production Unit

  • The dense layout of the upper module of the floating production unit (FPU) is prone to the risk of explosion. In order to reduce the harm of accidents, this paper takes the TEG (triethylene glycol) dehydration module structure of a floating production unit as the research object, finite element software ABAQUS was used to analyze the dynamic response of explosion, considering the whole process from initial state to collapse of structure. The peak pulse value and duration of explosion load were designed according to the research object, and the influence of three different explosion source directions was considered. The calculation results showed that, under the designed explosion load, the explosion source along the ship width direction will lead to the material failure and fracture and eventually collapse, but the whole module structure will not collapse under other working conditions. The calculation results have important reference significance for TEG dehydration module structure design.
