Research on High Efficiency and Stable Production Development Technology of Offshore Deepwater Gas Fields

  • Offshore deepwater gas fields have significant interference between gas reservoirs/ wells and face flow safety risks. In order to achieve efficient and stable production development, a multi-node coupled integrated model has been established in the western part of South China Sea for the first time. The idea of optimizing single well production allocation through both steady-state and transient simulations has become an efficient and stable production development strategy. The research results indicate that the integrated model achieves the transfer of flow and pressure data from gas reservoirs to submarine pipelines to platforms, providing a "big data" foundation for stable and efficient development research. The steady-state simulation shows that the main factors affecting the efficient production of gas fields are the dynamic production capacity of gas wells, water breakthrough risk, pressure loss between manifolds, and flow safety. Transient simulation has achieved optimization of hydrate inhibitor injection rate, simulation of liquid accumulation and slug flow, and optimization of gas well shutdown and resumption sequence. Through the research on efficient production and flow safety technology, the stable production period of deepwater gas fields in the development plan has been increased by one year which compared to traditional methods, and the recovery rate during the stable production period has been increased by 3%, which can provide technical support for achieving long-term, efficient, and stable development of deepwater gas fields.
