Abstract
Weixi exploration area develops complex faults, and the lateral variation of seismic velocity is large. High-precision velocity model is critical to the seismic imaging of fault blocks in this area. While the migration data imaging using tomographic velocity modeling is still difficult to meet the demand of fine exploration and development. Full waveform inversion (FWI) is an advanced velocity modeling technology which is widely used in industry at present. It utilizes the full waveform information such as transmitted wave and refracted wave, and it is beneficial to obtain a finer velocity model. Aiming at the complex structure in Weixi area, a high-precision velocity model in the study area was established by using the combined iterative workflow of tomography and transmitted wave FWI. The imaging quality of the final prestack depth migration data has been significantly improved, which provides reliable basic data for the fine exploration and development of Weixi exploration area.
