Opinions on the Development of Offshore Petroleum Engineering

Under the combined influence of geopolitics such as Russian-Ukrainian conflict and global inflation, oil and gas prices continue to fluctuate at high level. Facing the increasingly tense relationship between energy supply and demand, it is urgent to pay attention to the increase of offshore oil and gas reserves and production from a strategic perspective. SINOPEC has a certain scale and strength in the shallow sea, but there is still a gap in offshore engineering technology and equipment in the deep sea. This paper analyzes the current situation of domestic offshore oil engineering industry and abroad and the demand of exploration and development of self-operated deepwater blocks of SINOPEC from the aspects of drilling and completion, offshore engineering and new energy. Combined with the future development of offshore new energy, the direction and path of the next development of SINOPEC offshore oil engineering are put forward. It provides reference for cultivating offshore petroleum engineering technology system with SINOPEC characteristics and strengthening offshore petroleum engineering.
