Exploration and Practice of Triethylene Glycol Pollution Control in Bohai J Platform

  • The triethylene glycol dewatering and regeneration system of J platform in Bohai Sea is faced with serious problems of triethylene glycol pollution and insufficient circulation volume, which leads to the decrease of the dewatering capacity of the system and the significant increase of the dew point of natural gas external water transmission, affecting the safe and stable operation of the natural gas pipeline network. In order to improve the quality of triethylene glycol and reduce the dew point of natural gas water transfer, this paper optimized the liquid hydrocarbon flow of gas well metering separator and introduced a new energy exchange pump. The field results show that: the quality of triethylene glycol has been significantly improved, saving 8000 L/a of triethylene glycol, increasing the circulating volume of triethylene glycol from 0.7 m3/h to the required flow rate of 1 m3/h, and decreasing the water dew point of natural gas from −15 ℃ to −29 ℃, which provides a guarantee for the safe operation of the natural gas pipeline network. This method has achieved good application effect on the platform J, and provides a reference for the pollution control of offshore platform and the overall design of new oil and gas field development.
