Finite Element Analysis of the Bending Moment Capacity of the Deep Water Submerged Wellhead

  • In order to determine the bending capacity of the submerged wellhead, the finite element sensitivity analysis of various factors affecting the bending moment capacity of the submerged wellhead was carried out to obtain the law of the influence of various factors on the bending moment capacity of the wellhead, and then each factor was extracted. The conservative values are taken as the input of the calculation of the bending moment capacity. Finally, the conservative bending moment capacity of the submerged wellhead is calculated by the ANSYS finite element analysis software. The results show that the bending capacity of the submerged wellhead can reach 5.89 Mft·lbf under rigid lock preload, which can be comparable to the international manufacture's wellhead bending capacity.
