Application of Formation Pressure Testing Tool IFPT in Bohai Oilfield

  • The developments of Bohai Oilfield have entered a stage of overall development. Monitoring formation pressure and judging the variation degree of formation energy have become the most important task in the design and adjustment of oilfield injection and production scheme. Formation pressure testing while drilling can reduce the risk of operation in highly deviated wells and realize the purpose of collecting formation pressure information at the same time. This paper introduces a new type of formation pressure testing tool while drilling, IFPT. The working principle, testing system and operating flow of IFPT are described. The measuring accuracy of IFPT real-time data is verified by comparison. The results of application show that IFPT is effective in mobility calculation, fluid identification and pressure dynamic monitoring.
