Research on a New Type of Technology for Anti-lifting Safety Interlocking

Drawworks and BOPs are the most important equipment in the oil drilling industry, and the Anti-lifting equipment is a kind of safety device which is the bridge linking up the above two control systems. It can effectively prevent incorrect operations of drawworks during the BOPs being closed, and avoid the accident of drilling tool breaking. However, with the development of science and technology, the drilling equipment has undergone tremendous changes, the existing Anti-lifting safety device could not match well with the advanced drilling control system, and also the installation and maintenance costs are very high. Therefore, it is imperative to study a new type of Anti-lifting safety interlock technology. In this paper, the new technology will be introduced in detail through the successful research and practice in the Rig KANTAN 6. This technology has broad application prospects, which can provide reference for similar platforms in the future.
