Exploration and Understanding of High Pressure High Temperature Drilling

There are lots of difficulties and challenges during high pressure and high temperature drilling. In order to ensure the safety and improve the operation efficiency of high temperature and high pressure drilling, the main problems of high pressure drilling are analyzed in this paper. Combined with the successful experience at home and abroad, some corresponding measures were presented. For High temperature and high pressure drilling, except high pressure and high temperature, there are lots of difficulties, such as the poor drill ability, long term drilling, fatigue failure of drilling tools, influence of hydrogen sulfide and other acidic gases on drilling operation. It is very important for the success of the high temperature and high pressure drilling operation to strengthen the management at well site by selecting suitable drilling equipment, drilling technology and supporting technology. High temperature and high pressure drilling technology is a systematic project, it is necessary to continue accumulating experience, improve the relevant technical standards and regulations in order to provide reliable support and reference for high pressure and high temperature drilling in the future.
