Application of Acoustic LWD to Evaluation of Well Cementing Quality of Extended Reach Well-Taking Pinghu Oil and Gas Field in East China Sea as an Example

  • The cementing quality is the main factor which affects directly the effect of oil and gas development. The evaluation on cementing quality in extended reach well (high angle) and horizontal well has brought great challenges to well logging. The ZX1 well in Pinghu oil and gas feld is the frst ERW in East China Sea, with the maximum deviation of 77.8 degrees, and the horizontal displacement of 5.4 km. Due to the limitation of the crawler, wireline logging cannot be used to measure the cementing quality. Through investigations and technical feasibility demonstration, the latest acoustic LWDT of Schlumberger (SonicScope 475) has been used to measure and evaluate the cementing quality for ZX1 wells frstly in China, and good application results has been obtained.
