Horizontal Wells Development Adjustment Technology in ND Volcanic Reservoirs

  • Since the rapid production constructing of ND volcanic reservoirs in the year 2007-2008, some problems such as rapid production decline, low single-well production, low production rate, small drainage area of the well and low reserves producing degree have occurred successively. In order to enhance the reserves producing degree, achieve the economical and effective development, increase the production, an experiment of large-scale horizontal fracturing was performed and achieved success in 2013, which opened the prelude to the development of horizontal wells in ND volcanic reservoirs. Based on the application of a series of technologies such as fne reservoir characterization, optimization of horizontal well deployment, remaining oil tapping by separate layer development, optimization of fracturing technology etc., quite good effect has been achieved. 75% of 99 horizontal wells drilled encountered the oil interval. The initial average single well production of 10.3 t/d is 2.7 times that of vertical well, and the production of exploration block begins to rally. The practice of horizontal well development in ND volcanic reservoirs indicates that for the volcanic reservoirs in which the reservoir space consists of fracture and pore, the large-scale horizontal fracturing can increase single well production, reserves producing degree and development benefts, and also be taken as a reference to the other similar reservoirs.
