Analysis of Residual Velocity with High Accuracy

  • In order to overcome the shortcoming of low accuracy and wide scanning speed range existed in the conventional velocity analysis, the high accuracy velocity analysis has been used to scan the residual moveout of all seismic CDP data to pick up automatically the accurate stacking velocity and get a 2D velocity profile. Automatic picking, however, might result in abnormal velocity. 3D interpolation with local regression method is used to eliminate the abnormal velocity and then obtain a smooth velocity field. This method can get more accurate velocity, and improve the effect of horizontal stacking and migration processing.
