Development and Application of Sand Control Simulation Experiment Device for Thermal Recovery Screen

  • In order to solve the problems occurred easily during thermal recovery of heavy oil, such as sand flowing and difficulty in sand control, a set of thermal recovery sand screen simulation experiment device has been developed, which has considered the reservoir sand grain characteristics, the viscosity of the fluid, the temperature and pressure of the oil wells. According to the technical characteristics of mechanical sand control, full size indoor sand production simulation experiment can be carried out. Analysis has been conducted about advantages and disadvantages of sand control screen, which provided a basis for optimization of sand control method and optimization design of sand control parameters. According to the characteristics of heavy oil field, laboratory simulation experiment has been conducted, and the experimental results have provided advisable well completion pattern and sand control parameters for thermal recovery of heavy oil. The device has been applied in field, and good application results have been obtained.
