Control Method of High Temperature Excessive Cross-link in Sulphonated Drilling Fluids

  • Sulfomethylated phenolic resin is the main agent in high temperature high density drilling fluid, when it was used in saline drilling fluid system, the excessive cross link of sulfomethylated phenolic resin increases the viscosity and shearing stress of the drill-ing fluids dramatically. Based on the analyzing results of the cross link mechanisms of sulfomethylated phenolic resin, two kinds of cross link inhibitors were developed. The cross link inhibitors can inhibit the excessive cross link of sulfomethylated phenolic resin, and can improve the high temperature properties of sulphonated drilling fluid.
