In the process of migration from source rocks to sandstones, hydrocarbon left traces. There were a lot of phenomena to recognize traces appeared on seismic sections. It was an effective method to research on the formation of shallow reservoirs by analyzing the forming mechanism of traces. Gas chimney and other trace migration recognition methods was summarized and verified during hydrocarbon exploration, and these methods can guide production very well.
