Ce anomaly as geochemical tracers for redox condition in carbonates of Sanya Formation, Qiongdongnan Basin

  • Rare earth elements were measured in sedimentary cores collected in carbonates of Sanya Formation. The content of rare earth elements in marine sediment is under 1 μg/g, while it shows sharp Ce anomaly, indicating that carbonate sediments in Qiongdongnan basin were deposited in oxic environments. Vertically, the curve of Ce change is consistent with eustatic sea level change, indicating that Ce change is correlated with eustatic sea level change.
