Laboratory study of high-temperature saltwater cement slurry

  • In the process of salt stratum cementing operation, routine potable water cement slurry can't meet the need of cementing operation of salt strata.Laboratory studies were done on the influence of different retarders and filtrate reducers on the performance of saltwater cement slurry in which NaCl contents is 18%(BWOW),and the saltwater cement slurry was formulated using retarder CHY-5 and filtrate reducer CFL-2 as the main additives. It was found that the influence of hole temperature fluctuation on cementing can be ignored because CHY-5 was insensitive to temperature changes and CFL-2 can effectively control filtration. This cement slurry had a controllable thickening time and short transition time which meant that the slurry can become thick promptly. This cement slurry can be used in deep well (about 4 000 m) cementing at a temperature of about 140℃.
