Influence of drag-reduction on multiphase flow and heat transfer in offshore oil-gas pipeline

  • Drag-reduction technology dramatically increased oil and gas flow rates at the same offshore pipeline pressure.Drag-reduction additives have great impacts on frictional pressure drop liquid holdup and interfacial phenomenon in multiphase flow and it can also decrease the heat transfer between pipeline wall and multiphase fluids.In some cases,multiphase flow patterns can be changed and severe slugging can be suppressed by using drag-reduction technology which improves operation conditions of offshore transportation system and can improve the efficiency of offshore hydrocarbon transportation.
