Abstract
Because of the difference between converted-wave (P-SV)and P-wave, the processing of converted-wave seismic data requires certain special considerations, in which the residual S-wave statics is one of the main problems.Cary and Eaton presented a robust method for obtaining an initial estimate of large, short-wavelength receiver statics. With the assumption that the surface-consistent model applies to P-SV mode-converted data in a structurally no complex area, they come up with the idea that the residual statics is equal approximately to the receiver statics. We showed that stack-power can be maximized with the use of the cross correlation of a pilot trace and a CRP stacked trace, it produces much more reliable solutions of the CRP statics than conventional statics algorithms. This algorithm applies to theoretical and field data and provides much more reliable and robust solutions of CRP statics than conventional statics algorithms.
