Structure ridge and hydrocarbon migration pathway system of Panyu Low Uplift in the Pearl River Mouth Basin

  • The present exploration indicates that Panyu Low Massif has abundant oil-gas resource potential. According to the study of main sand space-time distribution and stratum of hydrocarbon finding in this area, we can confirm that three layers (T5, T4-T3, T3-T2) is the main stratum of hydrocarbon migration. The delta-strand deposit system which is developed in Zhuhai Group (T5 18.5 Ma) is the conductor department of hydrocarbon's long distance transport. Also the shallow water delta, slope fan developed in the stratum of T4(15.5 Ma)-T3(13.8 Ma), T3(13.8 Ma)-T2(10.0 Ma) is the favorable reservoir and conductor department. Panyu Low Massif extensively develops syndepositional reverse fault which is the conductor department of hydrocarbon vertical migration. Using earthquake and well datum recover the ancient structure pattern and combine organic fluid inclusion analysis we can open out the structure ridge of hydrocarbon migration. The type of pathway system that hydrocarbon migrates by fault-sand conductor along structure ridge in the form of three-dimensional netted ladder is the most distinct characteristic in this area,
