Solutions to 3D Seismic Data Merging in East China Sea

  • Over the last ten years, many of key exploration areas have been covered with 3D seismic in East China Sea. These 3D seismic data of different vintages, grid orientations and bin sizes has been processed using different processing sequence and variable levels of processing technology. The differences among blocks cause difficulty in appraising the whole area. The goal of 3D merging is to produce a single, high-quality seismic volume with uniform and consistent amplitude and phase, and a single bin size and orientation. This paper presents solutions to 3D seismic data merging in East China Sea and describes the main processing steps involved in pre-stack or post stack data merging.
