Express Synchronous Acquisition with MEMS-Based Multi-point Vibration of Offshore Platform

  • Vibration based offshore platform structural safety evaluation technology has been widely used in offshore engineering because of its advantages such as low price and convenient operation, etc., which represents the technological tendency of non-invasive and nondestructive detection and diagnosis on large scale engineering structure. By introducing intelligent sensing and wireless data communication network technologies, the wireless sensor network (WSN) based multi-point synchronous acquisition scheme is proposed. This new application-specified vibration sensing and acquisition system can effectively measure and record spatial vibrations of offshore jacket platforms without wiring troubles or environmental interferences introduced by cabling. Moreover, it improves significantly the redundancy and reliability of the system, enhances its environmental survivability, simplifies the field operational procedure, and reduces greatly the operation cost. The successful development and application of the rapid detection and diagnostic system for ultra-low frequency vibration of offshore platforms have broad application prospects for wireless sensor network technology in application to safety monitoring and detection of offshore platforms.
