Overview to Technology for Deepwater Offshore Engineering Geological Survey Vessel

  • Deepwater geological survey vessels are special vessels for implementation of offshore geological engineering survey, and can be used for detecting the potential geological hazards and influence factors on geological engineering work, and evaluating the engineering geological conditions of the study area. With deepwater geological survey vessels, deep water catastrophic geological conditions can be detected, such as gas hydrates, turbidity current deposits, and shallow ocean water high pressure currents. In addition, deepwater geological survey vessels can be used for engineering geological prospecting in deep water (drilling, surface sampling), high resolution seismic and magnetic survey, single wave velocity and vibration velocity depth measure, deep water and shallow section survey, and the static cone penetration test (CPT). The deepwater geological survey vessels are multifunctional composite deepwater operation equipment, with high degree of automation, can work in complex operation conditions, and can meet the requirements for comprehensive engineering investigation.
