Effect Evaluation of Electric Pump Drainage and Gas Production Measures for Strong Bottom Water Gas Reservoirs in East China Sea

  • Drawing on the successful experience of oil reservoirs, in recent years, the electric pump drainage and gas production measures have been promoted and applied in offshore strong bottom water gas reservoirs. Evaluating the effect of implementing measures is helpful to clarify the applicability of measures and provide an important basis for targeted water control and control of such gas reservoirs. Taking the X1 gas well in East China Sea as an example, based on the evaluation of the production indicators after measures, the gas reservoir engineering and numerical simulation methods were used to study the change characteristics of water invasion, gas-water interface and dimensionless gas production capacity after the electric pump drainage in strong bottom water gas reservoirs, and the reasons for ineffective measures were clarified. The results indicate that the electric pump drainage measures are not suitable for strong bottom water gas reservoirs. The water body of this kind of gas reservoir is active, the water drive front is unstable, and the high-intensity drainage at single well point cannot prevent the bottom water from advancing. However, due to the large production pressure difference, the water invasion is intensified, the gas-water interface is unbalanced, and the potential area is flooded quickly. The practical understanding of this well can provide certain guidance for the rational selection of drainage and gas production measures for similar gas reservoirs.
