The Application of Well Logging Technology in Fracturing Engineering

  • In recent years, reservoirs with low porosity and permeability have gradually become the focus area of offshore oil field exploration. However, it is difficult to conduct fracturing operation on the sea due to multiple conditions restriction. Through the application of logging technology in fracturing process, the smooth operation of fracturing can be guaranteed. This paper took a well in the eastern South China Sea as an example. In the pre-fracturing design stage, the quantitative parameters of reservoir were obtained by logging data, and the favorable fracturing zone was selected. Reservoir in-situ stress analysis, based on acoustic wave and cementing quality, rock mechanical parameters calculation and well bore integrity evaluation were carried out to provide effective engineering parameters and finally the fracturing optimization plan was obtained. In the construction process, the perforation parameters were optimized through the fracture pressure curve to ensure the smooth fracturing operation. After fracturing, acoustic wave and cementing quality before and after fracturing were compared to obtain fracture extension height, volume of reconstruction space and other parameters to evaluate the fracturing effect. The application of logging technology in fracturing process can effectively guide fracturing operations and then better fracturing results are obtained.
