Research and Application of Oil-based Drilling Fluid Plugging System Based on Elastic Mesh Body

  • In order to solve the problem of poor adaptability of conventional plugging materials and cracks, elastic mesh body with good compression and deformation was selected as the bridging material, and temperature-resistant and oil-resistant elastic mesh material was prepared by surface modification. By selecting rigid particles, elastic particles and fiber materials, an oil-based drilling fluid plugging system based on elastic mesh body was constructed. In the laboratory, the plugging performance of the plugging system was evaluated by using a 2 mm×1 mm wedge-shaped long crack plugging simulation on evaluation experimental device. The experimental results show that the fracture sealing area of the formed plugging system is moderate, the thickness of the sealing area increases, the leakage is small, and the pressure bearing capacity is high. The oil-based drilling fluid plugging system based on elastic mesh has been applied in multiple wells on site, and the success rate of one-time plugging has reached 84.6%. The technical results can provide effective technical ideas for oil-based drilling fluid loss in fractured formations.
