Application of Element Logging Technology in Buried Hill Oil and Gas explorationTaking Huizhou 26-6 Structure in Pearl River Mouth Basin as Example

  • In order to solve the problems of buried hill lithology identification, buried hill interface sticking and reservoir evaluation in Huizhou 26-6 Structure, this paper used element logging data, combined with high resolution electrical imaging logging, drilling and wall coring data to study and obtain the following research results: (1) The lithology identification chart of buried hill is established by using Si-Fe and Si-Na data from element logging, which can be used to quickly identify lithology during drilling; (2) By analyzing the element variation characteristics of buried hill strata and overlying strata lithology, and summarizing the mountain entry mode, the rapid sticking of buried hill interface can be realized; (3) Based on the difference of element migration ability, the easy migration element index EI and the difficult migration element index NI are established to distinguish the interior zones and weathering zones of granite and diorite. (4) The fracture-cavity index is established to effectively represent the development of fractures and pores in buried hill reservoirs. This study shows that element logging technology can play an important role in complex lithology identification, buried hill interface sticking, weathering zone and interior zone division and reservoir evaluation.
