Internal Emulsion Treatment Practice of Secondary Separator in an Offshore Oilfield

  • The generation and accumulation of emulsion in the production process is a complex and multi-factor result, which requires a comprehensive analysis of treatment mediums, chemicals, production process, etc. The stability of the production process in an offshore oilfield is seriously affected by the accumulation of emulsion in the secondary separator. It is necessary to find out the causes of the formation and aggregation of emulsion and take measures to solve them. Demulsifier is a kind of chemicals commonly used for crude oil dehydration, which can accelerate the separation of oil and water, but improper use will promote the generation of emulsion. In this paper, the problem of production process fluctuation is solved by adjusting the operation temperature of the process and increasing the operation pressure of the secondary separator, which provides a reference method for eliminating the influence of emulsion on the oilfield site.
