Reservoir Characteristics and Damage Factors Analysis of Well B–A8

  • The changes in oil and gas production are not accord with injection nozzle sizes changes in Well B-A8. In order to solve this problem, meanwhile provide suggestions for the later development of N Block, this paper took the fluid and reservoir cores of Well B-A8 as study objects, analysed the reservoir characteristics by porosity and permeability analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, and scanning electron microscope analysis. Combined with the reservoir temperature and pressure and fluid properties, the main controlling factors of reservoir damage were analyzed. The results show that the reservoir is characterized by low porosity and low permeability, and the clay minerals are mainly composed of kaolinite and illite, with a small amount of chlorite. Pore throat radius are usually on micro scale. Well B-A8 is characterized by strong salt sensitivity, moderately weak water sensitivity, and weak velocity sensitivity, and has risk of forming inorganic scales such as CaCO3 and MgCO3. In the later stage of the development of N Block, special attention should be paid to the technological process of drilling and completion and other operating processes, such as the type of working fluid, speed and other conditions, so that it can avoid causing severe susceptibility damage to the reservoirs.
