Study on the Favorable Reservoir Area of Strike-slip Fault Zone of Ultra-deep Carbonate Reservoir in Fuman Oilfield

  • The ultra-deep marine carbonate reservoir in Tarim Basin is rich in oil and gas. Affected by deep burial depth and intense tectonic activities, it is difficult to predict favorable carbonate reservoirs. This seriously restricts the exploration and development of Fuman Oilfield. On the use of seismic, logging and oil testing data, this paper clarifies the characteristics of vertical stratification and plane segmentation of strike-slip faults. Combined with the structure of strike-slip fault fracture zone, the development position of the favorable reservoir under the strike-slip fracture zone with different characteristics is studied. The study shows that the favorable reservoir in the compression-torsion section fault is mainly developed in the middle of the main fault; the favorable reservoir of tension-torsion section fault is located on the side with large vertical fault distance between two main faults; the favorable reservoir of the strike-slip translation section fault is mainly developed in the whole main fault zone; the favorable reservoir in the composite section fault is developed near the main fault with larger vertical fault distance. The exploration results show that the favorable reservoir locations of four types of strike-slip faults are consistent with the study. This study provides reference for favorable carbonate reservoir predicition and well location deployment.
