Research on Process Design of Export Pumps on an Unmanned Platform in the South China Sea

  • The number of offshore unmanned platforms is increasing in various sea areas in China, which reduces the operation and maintenance costs and labor costs of offshore equipment, but the safety and reliability of unmanned offshore platforms are required to be more stringent. The oil and gas production processes of unmanned platforms are mostly simplified, and after being extracted from oil wells, the crude oil directly enters the export pipeline without treatment. An unmanned platform in the South China Sea is quite special, and it is necessary to set up export pumps for boosting to meet the production requirements. In this paper, through design research and scheme comparison, for the first time on an offshore platform, diesel is innovatively used to replace crude oil in the standby pump, and a remote start signal is added. When the running export pump is breakdown, the operator can remotely start the standby export pump on other platforms or terminals to ensure the normal and safe production of the unmanned platform.
