Application of Induced Screen Out Frac-pack in the Bohai Oilfield

  • Due to the limitations of completion tool structure, tip screen out is not applicable for frac-pack operations in Bohai oilfield. In order to reduce the risk of completion tool sticking and increase the production, we used induced screen out for frac-pack instead. Referred to the given well data and information of Bohai oilfield, the frac-pack simulation was conducted under premise of ensuring effective dimensionless conductivity of cracks : optimizing the frac- pack design with proppant mass, pumping schedule, construction pressure, fracture size and other parameters. The well operated according to this design got good stimulation effect and long stable production period. Other wells which implemented the technique in this oilfield also achieved stimulated and stable production. It has been found that induced screen out frac-pack can be well used in the Bohai oilfield.
