Research of Improvement of Ground Blowout Preventer Control System

  • In order to solve the existing problems in the ground BOP control system, such as the complicated liquid and gas manifolds, backward control methods, difficult maintenance and management, high construction costs and long response time. This paper starts with the bus technology and the subsea BOP control technology, then discusses and applies these techniques to the conventional ground BOP control system. The purpose is to minimize the number of control manifolds, realize multi-point and convenient operation and improve the system response speed effectively. The research shows that using the new communication technology and the advanced control technology of the subsea BOP control system is feasible and beneficial to partial or whole modification of the existing ground BOP control system.
