Application and Research of Proppant Index Design Method on Frac-pack

  • Proppant index fracturing optimization is a method to obtain the optimal fracture parameters from the perspective of the reservoir under the given proppant dose conditions, with the goal of maximizing production, which has been widely used at home and abroad. Due to the constraints of equipment capacity, rock physical parameters and other factors in the unconsolidated sandstone reservoir frac-pack operations, the actual fracture width is smaller than the value optimized by proppant index optimization method, which leads to the disconnection between the optimization and field operation. By introducing the mechanical factors such as net pressure and rock physical parameters into the proppant index optimization method, the frac-pack parameters are optimized under the construction condition to achieve the goal of removing reservoir pollution and obtaining the highest production capacity. The optimization result can guide the field work well and has a high degree of fitting with the field, and has been well applied in the field.
