Application of Geophysical Methods in the Investigation of Leakage Points of Submarine Gas Pipelines

  • The environment of submarine pipelines is complex and changeable. The pipelines may fracture under the action of external forces or internal factors. Fractures of the Pipelines have the characteristics of difficult location, economic losses and serious environmental pollution. This paper researched the application of geophysical methods in the investigation of leakage points of submarine gas pipelines through an example. The results show that the location of leakage points of submarine gas pipelines can be located accurately by analyzing the abnormal characteristics of the seawater, submarine geomorphology and stratum profile. It can provide important guidance for the investigation of the fracture points of submarine pipelines in the future.
