Research on Broadband Filtering Characteristic of Inclined Cable Seismic Acquisition

  • Inclined cables receive varied ghost wave generated by detector, which can suppress ghost waves and widen the frequency band of seismic signals. In order to study the broadband effect of different acquisition methods for inclined cables, the theoretical formula of superposition normalized spectrum is derived and numerical simulation is carried out to study the filtering parameters at cable ends of straight inclined cables, meanwhile the influencing factors of filtering characteristics of straight inclined cables are analyzed. From the analysis results, it can be seen that the variation range of inclined cable depth has the greatest influence on the broadband effect. In addition, the superposition normalized spectral filtering characteristics of five cable types are compared, and the straight inclined cable has the best effect in suppressing ghost waves. Therefore, it is concluded that the straight inclined cable type should be adopted as a better method of inclined cable acquisition and the cable depth variation range should be increased.
